Did anyone watch Canada vs. Russia? Ouch! Was hoping for a much more entertaining and competitive game than that.

I hope we get a shot at Canada and beat them again, so our neighbors to the north really have something to boo about, what a bunch of tools.

Although I don't necessarily agree with the booing why would that make them tools? Passionate patriotic hockey fans............isn't emotion what makes cheering for your team the great thing about sports. As long as it isn't disrespectful I thought booing was part of the whole concept. Like taunting a goalie or yelling at the refs (without the profanity)
As a passionate fan of the game............and your neighbour to the north I..........I would respect your choice to cheer or boo for the team of your choice............without assuming you are a tool.
And I am with you on I hope Canada gets to see the US again..............I love a good game against a rival............now that Russia is out the next biggest rivalry would be USA.

Worst game I have seen "The Big Red Machine" play in 20 years. I will give the Canadian boys credit they put their foot on it and drove it in but still...........that Russian coach might want to stay in Canada I am thinking he is destined for Siberian salt mines.

I like how you generalize that all Canadian are tools because of the actions of a few.
Hockey is a passion up here, sometimes people get carried away. It's not like Americans have never boo'd Canadians at sporting events.
In the case of the US - Canada game tonight, its the match up both teams have been waiting for. Should be a great game

Ain't that the truth? Canada would just chastise the coach, Russia will banish them to the Gulags.

Maybe they were booing Patrice Bergeron for stinking up the place.

Hockey has always been boarderline on class. The only place that I know the guy can get a cut lip or a bloody nose, they take a break and go back to playing. That is part of the fun of the game.

Yep, starting next season, if Brady gets a bloody nose, it's an automatic TD for the Pats, and the offending player becomes his personal assistant for the remainder of the season.

That's hardly unique. Soccer and rugby, the sports who's World Cup's are the 2nd and 3rd largest sporting events after the Olympics, both have blood bins. In the case of rugby there's far more minor damage like you're describing than any of the other so-called tough guy contact sports where the players hide behind padding (ie. hockey and american football).

In response to this, having spoken to several friends who were actually at GM Place for the Swiss v USA game the booing was directed at the ref's and all their missed and/or non calls towards the end of the game. Not at the US Team.

Classless....like the game where the Bruins went into the stands in the Montreal Forum and beat Canadiens fans with their own shoes?
