Matt Flynn sets the Packers all time single game touchdown record with 6 and all time single game passing record with 480 yards! Well done Matt, now give Aaron the MVP and let's finish this season strong!

Yep, that was quite the job interview he just completed. Good for him, I've had a few cigars with him at our local members club, very nice guy, very happy for him.

Based on Flynn's performance, Rodgers clearly is not the MVP. Packers are still dominant without him.
My vote would be for Drew Brees.

Congratulations Packers on an excellent win today:-) No TV out this way, so had a "Packers Jones" today. Had to sort through highlight videos, etc for the big plays. Todd (RevSmoke) must have been on the edge of his seat at Lambeau today:-)

What cigars does Flynn enjoy anyways?

Well then, you don't get a vote, Peter.
:-):-)
Not sure why having a capable back-up would make any difference.

Don't misunderstand my post. Rodgers is the best QB in the game today. But having a capable back-up and quality team around him is exactly why he is not the
most valuable player, IMO.
Take Drew Brees out of the NO lineup, and they are just another good team. He is far more valuable.
One thing we absolutely agree on. I don't get a vote.

I agree with Brees value to his team (and the league, for that matter).
This will be an interesting choice this year. I don't think you can argue if either wins.

He was smoking mostly boutique stuff, not much mainstream

Either player is deserving. You could even toss Brady in the mix considering how bad the Patriots defense is.
The voting will be interesting.

I can see your point in that Rogers has an equal backup. Who is the backup for New Orleans should Brees go down for the count?

Question for the Pack faithful as I did not see the game. Did the Pack play their 1st string defense for most of the game. I see Stafford threw for 520 yards.
If they did, do you think the Pack defense is good enough to win the Lombardi trophy again?

Woodson and Mathews were inactive, so, no, the first string wasn't in there. I can't explain the yardage on both sides today. 30 degrees, light snow and 20-30 MPH winds don't usually lend themselves to this outpouring of passing.
I do think they are capable of winning the SB once again, as long as our offense can outscore the other team's offense.
:-)

I was not at the game. My son and three buddies were there in a friends seats, and JBailey was using my tickets - he may not be home yet.
I didn't get done with services today till 12:30. Didn't get home from church until about 1:15.
As for Flynn, what a great performance. I think part of the issue was that he was an unknown quantity for the Lions and they didn't know how to play against him.
Peace of the Lord be with you.

Based on that line of thinking, we should retroactively take away Tom Brady's 2007 MVP award and give it to Peyton Manning.
