Congrats on the new box Paul. Should serve you well while you save for a cabinet or Vino.

ditto. I had the displeasure of having a Cremosa once and I still can't get rid of the taste!

pauly, nice humidor....but trust me when i tell you this...get a bigger humidor and fast..you'll need it when u get a bargain on a bunch of cigars and need someplace to store them...I good sized humidor can be had for cheap...just make sure you check the WTS forum..also CI has a pretty good one that I got for a reasonable price..it's a 300 capacity desktop humidor that i got for around a $100 or so...it's called the "diablo"
but alas, I am running out of room in the Diablo, so i'll be using my new "Gran Habano" cabinet humidor that I bought off of Hendy yesterday...for a really good deal I might add..
:-)...thanks again Hendy!

That will be the next step, but I'm hoping (rather my wallet is hoping) that the treasure dome keeps me occupied as I try to get a better hold onto that last tuft of grass i'm clinging too...
Telling me to get a vino is like the santa in "a christmas story" when he tells the kid that he'll shoot his eye out, then puts his foot on his head and pushes him down...
Here is a picture for emphasis:

If you lose the auction do yourself a favor and go bigger, maybe not a Vino but larger than a desktop because you will be buying another humi after that one. Trust me, at one point I had four desktops because I kept telling myself I would not outgrow another one. The term Slippery Slope gets thrown around here for a reason. I bought a end table style cabinet that I swore I wouldn't outgrow and thought it would be impossible and guess what? That is filled to capacity and so is one of the desktops that I kept in service thinking I would only use it strictly as a quarantine for smokes that came in from shipping.

My beautyfull humidor with its sad contents. Both the humidor and gurkahs were gifts from my wife. The beads and digital hygrometer were gifts from me to me. It is in the basement on my gun safe holding a steady 65% at 61 degrees.

You're right, its just right now I can't really afford to go bigger, but if I miss out on this one, perhaps I'll wait a bit and save up some money and get something bigger. It just seems that this is the best "bang for my buck" at the moment. Worse comes to worse I can also go to the legendary coolidor!
Damn the slippery slope!
Also, Matthew, BEAUTIFUL cabinet you have there! congrats!

Eric,
Do you use one hygrometer in your Montegue, or do you have two, one in the cabinet and one in the drawer, like I do? Do you find that the rh changes much from the top to the bottom?

Matthew, One of my cabinets is also a Montegue. I know Eric also has one. I love mine and I have 2 hygrometers in mine. One that is part of my Oasis XL II humidifier system that is plugged in the bottom part and one electronic one in the drawer.

I also have the Montegue, I love this humi. I keep a hygrometer in the top drawer and then one on the botom shelf aswell. I found the plug in the back great for putting a fan back there and that will keep the humidity equal in the top and bottom.
