Drinking a Surly Bender now. Youngs Double Chocolate Stout on deck. Stopped at the beer store on the way home and bought a 4 pack each of Founder's Breakfast Stout and North Coast's Old Rasputin.

I finally managed to find some of the much raved about Founders Breakfast Stout, and now I see why--great stuff! It was on my BBL (beer "bucket list" :-)) Really enjoyable

I'm drinking a Flying Dog Horn Dog Barleywine. This is my first ever barleywine, and I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but wow, it's lovely. I had no idea that malts could be so sweet. It's 10% abv, but it's definitely a smooth, sweet tasty beer. I got this in a Flying Dog sampler pack, but will definitely buy some on it's own.

My old standby tonight, Smuttynose Robust Porter :-)

Have you tried the Gonzo Imperial Porter yet? Best of the Canis Major sampler IMO.

I have. It is a very good porter. In fact I added two to a mixed 6 pack I bought recently.

Snowing to beat the band here in Minneapolis tonight. Met a good friend of mine for a few beers at a local bar. Had a Surly Furious, Schell's Snowstorm, and a Guinness, all on tap. (Guinness is really overrated, isn't it?) Was great to be out in a lively holiday atmosphere and have a few beers. I'm home now, and since I am working from home tomorrow and can sleep in, am having a Sam Adams Cream Stout.

Hope you all are enjoying your beers tonight.

Drinking my first left hand milk stout:-) Pretty good.
Up next is my first brooklyn black chocolate stout:-)

And yes, guinness draft is overrated. The bottled extra stout isn't bad, but there are many better.

I've only had one LH Milk Stout, but I liked it very much.

If I were in Dublin you can bet Guinness would be my stout of choice! :-)

I'd like to try it sometime without the nitro-induced head. I suspect that it masks some of the aroma. But it does give it that lovely creamy texture.

I can tell you that the Guinness in the States, both bottled and on tap, doen't hold a candle to the Guinness in Ireland, for whatever reason. But since I can't get to Ireland every week, I do what I gotta do. :-)

I'm currently enjoying a Xingu Black Beer from Brazil. Never had it before. I noticed it has to be uber cold to be tasty. I had one that had only been in the fridge for a couple of hours.....yikes!

Drinking a Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. Really a good porter. Wish we could get it here in MN. I got this one when my family went to Ohio for Thanksgiving.
