He fell out of favor with me as an author in the 90's, though--too many words, too much "woe is me the poor tortured writer" bleck. And I never could get into much of his most recent stuff.

But I have to say, Under the Dome is right up there at the top of his best writing. Great mixture of horror, terror, dark comedy, a real human interest story. Very engaging from start to finish.
you sold me
added Under the Dome to my book list

I just finished Under the Dome a few weeks back... it was a great book and highly recommended.

now I'm just finishing up "sex tips for pandas" a book by a pair of british podcasters, it's fairly amusing if you are into that sort of thing.

Finally finished Sherlock Holmes. Then read Louis L'amour's Hondo, was excellent! Now into another Sherlock Holmes. This one written by the son of Sir Arthur, Adrian and John Dickson Carr, pretty good.

Not sure if this will benefit anyone but since Border's Book Store is closing some locations, their eReader (KoBo) is on sale for $70. It's very basic but that's all I needed. If you plan on reading at night just pick up a book light there at 30% off :-)

Currently reading Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman. Just a collection of his short stories. Have really enjoyed all of his books so far. Would recommend anything by Stephen King or Robert McCammon. Also enjoyed Stieg Larssons trilogy Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Sergei Lukyanenko's Nightwatch series.
