The beer and the joint were both quite acceptable.

I'm drinking a Great Lakes Edmind Fitzgerald porter. We can't get this in MN, but I made a trade with my nephew in Ohio, Surly for Great Lakes. This is an outstanding porter, especially once it warms up a little bit.

A couple Summits on tap, a Bells brew of some type, Surly Bender, Drop Top Amber from widmer, and only one macro.
Owned by the same people as Tournament Liquor, who have at least a couple stores in the north part of town, and from the one by me, have transferred their love of micros to the restaurant. It looks like they have a boatload of other micros and imports available. A tall Surly was 7 bucks, but it looks like they have a happy hour from 2-5 and from 9-11 pm where taps are half price. That is a good sign, in my book.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale tonight. Might drink another brew, not sure.

Thanks for that, but too far for me. I'm way out in the western suburbs. But, in your honor I cracked open a Bender too.
:-)

Perception is reality my friend.

They could be selling the absolute best beer in the world in that bottle but if you charge a premium price for it people will be more willing to pay it if it's in premium packaging.

Had a 24oz Sierra Nevada Harvest earlier. Next trip to the store I'm getting a few of these to stash since they are a seasonal brew. I HIGHLY recommend picking some up. I really enjoyed it.
Just started drinking a Hoptimus Prime from Legacy. For a "double IPA" it's not as strong as I thought for 9% ABV. It's not my favorite so far, giving that to Stone's IPA, but for the price 4.99 for a 24oz I'm not going to complain much.

I am drinking my flrst Lagunitas Hop Stupid. Lovely beer. Oily and sticky; plenty of hops offering up grapefruit and pine flavors and aromas. I really thought that at 102 IBU's this would be a much more bitter beer, but rather it is well balanced. IMO Lagunitas can do no wrong, especially at their price point.

I agree hop stoopid is great, but I remain unconvinced that they are above average overall. What other beers of theirs should I try to change my mind?

I have enjoyed their IPA, Brown Shugga, Little Sumptin' Extra, and have a bottle of Old Gnarlywine waiting for me to drink it.

I didn't care for the hop overload in Hop Stoopid, it didn't seem balanced very well. Don't get me wrong, I'm a hophead, but in the style (100+ IBUs) I prefer Stone Ruination & Harpoon Leviathan to this beer.
Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of Lagunitas. I haven't found any of their beers that I've bought more than one six pack.
Just
:-), I'm glad that other folks are enjoying their brews!

If I didn't already know you live within the shadow of the Sierra Nevada plant, I'd have to make fun of you for putting little umbrellas in your wine coolers.

Drank a Lagunitas Headless Man ale earlier. It was ok, but that's about all I can say for it.
