OK, I'm gonna toss Derek and the Dominoes "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" into this mix, with the proviso understood that the title track is perhaps the most over-rated (and certainly the most over-played) one on the entire double-album set. IMHO. "Key To The Highway" is far and away the best track of them all, with the guitar duel between Clapton and Duane being one of the essentials of any rock collection. Plus, songs like "Bell-Bottom Blues", "Tell The Truth", "Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out" and "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad" are all great.

Funky progressive rock. Think new era Pink Floyd, though they won't ever be that popular.

OK...I suppose I'll throw a few things out there:
For workouts, I listen to a lot of Rage Against the Machine, mostly from "The Battle of Los Angeles" and "Evil Empire".
Here's a few other faves:
Bob Marley "Legend"
Dr. Dre "The Chronic"
Public Enemy "It Takes a Nation of Millions"
Jay Z "Vol 2...Hard Knock Life"
Linkin Park "Minutes to Midnight"
House of Pain "House of Pain"
LL Cool J "Bigger and Deffer"
I'm sure I can come with a few more, but this is a decent start.

The fact that someone has heard of Amon Amarth (let alone named one of their albums as a fave) just makes you that much cooler in my book. I saw them live when they came through town earlier this year (on my birthday in fact). It was an amazing show, they played a double set
