Cholesterol hit 200+ - I'm back on steel cut oats for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Damn. I need bacon.

200+ cholesterol = you are sent to the fat farm AND a cholesterol TAX.
Stay within the US governmental guidelines at the Moo lodge or else.....pay up.

This has been a humiliating, if not pathetic, public confession - particularly having been made in a Cigar, Pipe and Food Forum. :-)

If it wasn't for all the antioxidents in coffee who knows where I'd be.

Jeepers, 'smash. I was going to take a picture of my salad but, after that, forget it.

There is a Peterson chruchwarden on the cover of the new J. Peterman catalog. I left a copy on the front porch of the lodge. :-)

The lounge is quiet. There is a shortage of dues-paying hillbilly thugs this morning. Maybe a new video in the entertainment center will perk things up!

2 pounds of Costa Rican arrive Monday at my house Mr Moo.

On an eco tour in Costa Rica years ago, I stopped at a coffee plantation and remember clearly how the tour guide was saying how much better the coffee was light roast.

I guess city roast is best?

Tell you what we do here in the New Moo Lounge Break Area. We serve the cheap stuff. That $3.80/lb cheap-a$$ Costa Rican Hardbean over at CCM is one of the good bargains to be had and a great "learner" bean. It is large, easy to roast, makes smoke at the right times and makes fine coffee over a broad range from light to dark (not including oily); I happen to like it in the medium range, always stopping the roast no later than when pre-second crack smoke appears.

Tastes and opinions will differ but nobody can say their low-priced CR Taz isn't good, and a good bargain to boot.

The 3.80 a pound is what scared me off of a 5 pound bag.
I figured maybe it was too good to be true, but am glad it has your blessing.

One of the greatest things I have found about home roasting is, besides the price being a 3rd of roasted, you can keep a good variety on hand without worrying about spoilage.

The Freshroast is great as one roast covers about a day or 2.

CCM does have decent quality batches from time to time. I loaded up on some Kenya AA a while back that wasn't speechless, or spectacular, but it was damn good and easy on the wallet. Best part is here in Florida it arrives the next day!

Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
