I am definitely in the minority around here, I call it soda.
I still don't understand the "Crown and Coke" comment, why would you waste a good glass of Crown by putting anything other than ice in it?

I never expected this thread to reach 100 posts and get over 100 votes on the poll. So far Soda has a pretty good lead.

In the Boston area, many of us call it tonic.

Isn't that strange - I call our Dyson a vacuum.
I also call the Hoover, Panasonic and Dirt Devil vacuum also - don't want to confuse the issue with brand names -
:-)
But I do call the Shop Vac a shop vac -

If your butt starts itching, just pour some tonic/soda/pop/cola on it.

When I was a kid I lived in Massachusetts. They called it "tonic". Actually, Tah-nick.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one like that.
I was worried when I didn't see Coke as an option.

I call it by its name like "do you want a coke" or "do you want some sundrop". Mmmmmm sundrop.

In the hills where I was raised, everything was called Coke - even if it was Pepsi !
:-)
Eventually some of us started calling it soda but we still get weird looks when we say that.

Like a good Yankee Southerner from Chi-cah-go, I call it a Coke. (And I prefer it be one too!)
When they say "Pepsi okay" I lie and say "Same difference!"
