Took me forever to get through The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie, but I think I'm back in a reading groove. Finished up Amnar: The Execution by IJ Black recently, then moved on to Before They Are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie.

"The Family" by Jeff Sharlet when I'm in the bathroom (where most of my serious reading takes place, actually).
"Half Empty" by David Rakoff when I need a break from the above.
"The House of Rothschild: Volume 2" by Niall Ferguson when I'm feeling ambitious.

The Survivors Club: The Secrets and Science that Could Save Your Life - by Ben Sherwood.
I have had this book on my Kindle for about 6 months, not a real page turner but I seem to go back to it for a chapter or two every time I finish something else.

Just finished
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. A great book. Prompted me to reserve
The Girl Who Played with Fire at the library. I also put a hold on
Foreign Influence by Brad Thor and
American Assassin by Vince Flynn.
Since none of those are currently available, I'm picking up
A Drink Before the War by Dennis Lehane, tomorrow. Thanks Marianne for the Lehane recommendation (from your best of 2009 list
:-)). Well...I guess thanks, as I haven't read one of his novels yet, but loved
The Wire (HBO) for which he wrote a few episodes.

Let us know how you like
A Drink Before the War. Haven't read it but I really enjoyed his
Shutter Island and
The Given Day.
Just finished Ken Follett's
Fall of Giants. Lots of inter-related characters and plots. Always enjoy his books.
Just started George Bush's
Decision Points.

Just finished
The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay for the second time. Hadn't read it since High School and enjoyed it greatly. My wife found me a copy for my Birthday and finally got around to rereading it.
Starting
The Coming Fury by Bruce Catton, part of a trilogy including
Never Call Retreat and
Terrible Swift Sword. Hoping to have all three done before Christmas
