Your Tucker "falling leaf" is excellent. You also have excellent panning skills! I recommend the Lens Pen to clean sensor dust.

I can heartily recommend a brush from
www.visibledust.com for sensor cleaning as well. Been using em for years. Charge the brush, wipe, and done

How good is the sensor cleaning that is now on the 40 and 50D for Canon? As I recall it just vibrates the sensor to more or less shake stuff off, but has it seemed to be effective?

Not really. To really clean the sensor, you still need to use one of the products mentioned here. I used to use the swabs with solutions that were available, but it seems that the 50D sensor would get destroyed using the same liquid as the 40d sensor cleaner. Better to use a non-liquid. You gotta remember that the sensor is not THAT fragile, it can be cleaned if you're careful. And, it DOES need to be cleaned every now and again unless you want to spend hours cloning away dust spots!

I just bought a "rocket blower" and it helps a lot, but I would still like to clean my sensor. I think I'm going to send the 1D MK II to canon and have it "tuned up". It's due.

Unless canon has improved their sensor cleaning service over the last few years since I cared to check, you may need to clean it when it gets back anyway.
