Looks like the three way blockbuster between the Tigers, Yanks, and Dbacks is going through. Yankees get Granderson, tigers get Coke, Max Scherzer, Daniel Schlereth, Austin Jackson, Phil Coke, Dbacks get Jackson and Ian Kennedy.

Pudge WAS a great player. He did not help the Rangers make the playoffs, and will not make the Nats a .500 team.

He's an improvement over Josh Bard.

Peter Gammons is leaving ESPN and going over to the MLB Network.

Sucks for ESPN but rocks for MLB network.

That depends on your view of Peter Gammons.

Now it's REALLY unlikely Matsui is coming back. I say Damon does as DH.
Granderson is gonna fit in perfectly and excell in Yankee Stadium.
It's gonna be really painful to be a Red Sox fan for quite some time.

The Brewers are getting Randy Wolfe 3 yrs $29.75M.
The Rangers traded Kevin Millwood and $3M to the Orioles for Chris Ray and a player to be named later.
The Marlins traded Matt Lindstrom to the Astros for 2 low level minor league players.

Red Sox & Rangers have reached a preliminary trade.
Rangers get Mike Lowell and about $12M to cover his salary for 2010
Red Sox get Max Ramirez 1B/C
Deal still requires final approval from Red Sox ownership and MLB.

I think he had a good chance at making the Yankees roster in 2010 if they left the outfield as is. I could have seen Austin in CF, Melky in RF, Gardner in LF with Swisher playing mostly DH and giving a break to the 3 outfielders. The lineup definately looks better with CG though.

Granderson is gonna love that short porch in right field.

Yes he is. Kevin Long will also be working with him well before spring training on increasing his OBP and cutting down on the K's. Of course he should see a lot of fastballs with Jeter on base in front of him and Teixeira hitting behind him.

Not so fast, Girardi might give up number 28 and let Granderson keep it even though Girardi was gonna wear it to signify the 28th World Championship due to be awarded next Fall.

Actually he hit .249
:-) He also hit thirty home runs, is fast in the field, stole 20 bases, hit 23 doubles and 8 triples, had 71 RBIs and 91 runs, and was an all star last year. The only knock against him is he struggles mightily against left handed pitching. But thats okay, I think we will see an improvement in just about every category next year. Kevin Long and that short porch will help him a ton

He'll never see left-handed pitching in the AL East....
