Lots of crops will be damaged for sure in the mid to northern portion of the state.
I think as long as it stays above freezing, they should stand a chance.
Hope that ends up being the case

I hope they do...for their families sakes, and because I love Florida oranges. :-)

Well, just got the latest projected low.
Looks like freezing at 32 for me on the coast.
North and Central Florida is screwed.
Inland from me will likely be in the 20's.

WHO said something about Global Warming?
What is that stuff exactly?

Carlos I did not sign-up for this. They did not mention anything about below freezing in the brochure I read. :-)

Tony,
They just said with windchill, we will be around 23 to 30 on the coast, with 15-20 inland.

Just imagine, if there is a bit of rain, we will have snow in South Florida.

I'd cover my bird of paradise plants, but haven't found 15 foot sheets.:-)

This is good once in a while for me. In case I am ever tempted to move back North, I put my head outside on a night like tonight.

Be back in the high 70's this weekend.

And Carlos, Karma is a *****! Enjoy the cold!

Does suck for the orange farmers though... hope they don't lose too much.

Most of my area down to Miami saw temps below freezing last night, plus the wind chill onto that.

The northern part of the state sucked!
It was 17 in Jacksonville.
It was 22 in Pensacola.

That is freaking cold for us folks.

Just finished removing all the covering from some of the plants I protected last night. Quite nippy out there for this guy. We are now up to 36 and warming. It has gone up about 5 degrees in the last 1.5 hours.
Expected to be back in the mid 70's by Sunday. I see the light at the end of the tunnel.:-)

That sun does wonders.
Two to three hours later, we are up to 45 from 31.
Starting to thaw out a bit.
I can actually feel my toes again.:-)

Looks like the worse is over.
46 is the expected low for tonight.
Then back into the 50's as a low through Saturday, then in the 60's per Tony's post, with mid 70's as a high.

Back to the Florida I know.
