I said I was going to pass on these but after talking with one of the reps over at cigar.com he talked me into a 5er. I don't need no stinkin' tin!

This can be for the big operations like CI, Famous, JR, etc to further break down into singles, 5'ers, 10's whatever, or, for internal use, events, etc. This allows them to provide a larger quantity of cigars at a lower per unit cost since the packaging isn't included. This doesn't happen with all cigars, there's no set rule for which ones get the mazo treatment.

All that being said, I can't say if the PF's were or were not packaged this way, but I can tell you that some of the stuff manufacturers package into mazos might surprise you.

Oh, and breaking down 4-tins into 5 or 10-packs, actually, I've seen big e-tailers do sillier things.

Probably best to let the poster clarify rather than running amok substituting your assertions for facts.

Got the deal through CI's "Weekend Spotlight" e-mail deal. Here's the link:
http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...=SP-LPD4544-10

Deal's still valid: 10/$49.99

That link shows them for $60. Perhaps http://www.cigarsinternational.com/SL283C will work.

Odd, it was $49.99 when I posted the link. Your link works too, though. Thanks!

Once you click the link I posted it will show up as $49.99 when clicking your link but it shows $60 for those who haven't clicked the link from the actual email. Works the same as the free shipping link.

That's good info to know, thanks.

And the alternative is that I mistook some other brand to read "Liga Privada Papas Fritas, from Drew Estates"? I do need reading glasses, but that would be a hell of a mistake.

I didn't mean to come off as an ass, as I'll admit I did reading back on it, but when all we had to go on was "oh hey, these are on CI in 10 packs for $xx.xx" and could find nothing on CI at all similar(they don't even list that they carry the Papas Fritas), not to mention how odd it seems(at least to me) that they would split up tins of these, there is reason to be at least somewhat skeptical.

I doubt they were in tins to begin with. DE can save the money on packaging.

They're not in tins at the factory, they're stored wheels.
All they did was ship the wheels to ci, and they in turn
are selling them in lots of 10. Even at that price i'm not gonna jump.
Hard to pay that much for mixed filler.

Just try them. Not that it justifies the price all together, but they are darn good.

I wonder if they've gotten better since the show. Brooks gave me a couple
to try at IPCPR. But for the money im good. Id rather find a deal on the
baitfish or smoke J. Fuego Origen Maduro Originals.

Tins are going for $ 22-26 for 4 sticks = (roughly) $ 6.00 per stick

or

Grab them from CI at 10 for $ 49.99 = $ 4.99 per stick

Granted, they are short filler sticks...but $ 4.99 a stick ain't bad if it's good. :-)

I'm betting in a few months the price MAY go down a bit more, even for an LP blend.

Exactly! These won't last long. Especially if you buy the box with 7 tins. Glad I got my mitts on some.

They will be a "regular" release guys(well, as "regular" as JD is with the Ligas), there's more coming after this first round.
