Im glad...I like to make people laugh. Sometimes I only make myself laugh, but that is better than no one laughing. Sometimes I dont even make myself laugh, that's how I know I made a really bad joke

So after seeing this thread I had to light up a Gurkha Enigma I had when I got drunk and bought smokes (got to stop doing that)
Since this is my first Gurkha here are my thoughts as I smoke this right now.
Burn and draw are great
Wrapper looks really good
Taste.....
I can see why people say dirt, but its like a sweet dirt. Like if you put maple syrup on the ground and just licked it up.
but its not a real strong taste
Its not a horrible cigar, but it is very one dimensional of a sweet dirt taste that doesn't linger very long.
Would I try another type of Gurkha? Yeah, I got 4 left from that CI deal..
but I wouldn't buy this version ever again.

I think I'm going to have to buy one this weekend just to see for myself. only had one but I don't remember it being awful. I only remember that it looked pretty good on the outside. very nice wrapper.
Puros Indios, now THAT was truly of piece of sh*t

I do NOT like gurkhas. I would rather have my saliva permanently transmuted to urine.
I ordered the deep six sampler from CI a long time ago and smoked all of the cigars. I didnt like any of them.

Speaking of poo ....
http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...m=CS-KLB&cat=3
Yeah ... infuse monkey poo with tobacco and you're all set. Oh, thats right, its a civit, not a monkey. I feel so much better now after you've collected its poo containing coffee beans off of the jungle floor, roasted them, made coffee with it, and then infused that into your cigars.
I'm shocked this isn't a gurkha. The fact that its made with poo but has a "pleasantly sweet tip" is somehow reassuring .....

I too agree that your tastes change over time, and you find that cigars you liked 5 years ago now taste like crap. But having said that, I still really like the Shaggy. There are others that I cannot stand, but I don't wate a whole lot of energy "hatin" any cigar. And since someone brought up Patel, I also still really like the vintage series. Just my
:-).

Tonight my wife and I will celebrate our 13th anniversary here in kauai and the tooper (outside of the bedroom) will be smoking our Gurkha beauty and Gurkha beast. The beast is for me of course the beauty my lovely wife (how an ugly troll like me got a hottie is beyond me. I call it the Billy Joel/christy brinkley syndrome). With a bottle of chateau souverain 03 cab. 2 cigars in my personal top 25 and an exceptional cab from Alexander valley (which I think produces better stuff than napa at half the price.) no better topper I can think of.
Legend is a very happy lucky man.

Congratulations and happy anniversary.
Are you sure it's not the Julia Roberts/Lyle Lovett syndrome?

Probably right. More an attempt at fitting the beast.

Lets see:
"Pepin" Garcia- Cigar Legend (no pun intended)
Padron's- Cigar Legends
Fuente's- Cigar Legends
Oliva's- Cigar Legends
Kaizad Hansotia- Watch guy.....who bought the Gurkha name for a song and marketed the crap out of it.
"Kaiser" may know marketing, but he must gargle with potting soil if he helps "develop" the blends(which I'm not a 100% sure he even does).
Sadly, its getting to the point that anyone with a thick wallet can sell "the greatest cigars in the world". Gurkha for one, Arganese for another. I've tried many of these "cigar companies"( I use that term loosely, seeing as they don't have factory themselves, they just job it out) offerings some are good, but to me most aren't worth crap.
But, as a wise man said "Smoke what YOU like, and like what YOU smoke."

Forgot to mention the aforementioned cigars and wine will be enjoyed on our balcony overlooking the kauai eastern shore.
Just finished an awesome dinner in Hanalei dolphin restaurant.
Lucky lucky lucky bastard.
