Ethiopia Dry Processed Grade 1 Aricha :-) roasted 12 hours before to city+, drip, Silk. Pretty good, but I think it will be better in the Coffee Kinetics roaster, so I did a 4 pot batch tonight.

The Aricha is better, but I think I got it too light. Ah, the joys of home roasting.

Those look good Shane. Wish I could justify getting a machine.

Ethiopian coffees for me always need about 36 hours of rest before they start tasting good.

I was blown away by an Ethiopian coffee, a couple weeks back, that was about 4 hours out of the roaster :-) Started doing 12 hour rests.
I hope this comes around, actually, it's starting to already. I'm just not much of a city-city+ guy. I like it FC-FC+.

The Aricha, with 36 hours, drip, Silk. Ultra smooth, mild, some sweetness, good cup, but....I did roast this way too light. Thinking maybe I'll roast up a strong flavored Sumatra and blend. Then I would have 6 days worth though :-)

A blend of the Aricha and Sumatra Toba Batak peaberry :-) roasted 22 hours ago to FC+, drip, Silk. A nice Mokha Java type blend, smooth, some sweetness, earthy funkiness.

Costa Rica Tarrazu Finca La Ortiga at City+.
Very good! Notes of Buttered Sourdough Toast w/ Honey and a slight citrus twang.

A nice Mocha Java blend 70% Ethiopia 30% Sumatra. Smooth and sweet, nice berry flavor, and just a hint of earthy funkiness :-)
