A great book.

I'm working on Volume 3 of Shelby Foote's "The Civil War". I've been at this read off and on for years. Will likely finish next winter.

Just finished up "The Night Inspector" by Frederick Busch. On GoodReads I gave it 5 stars, which is also what I gave "Team of Rivals".

The past few years I have read so many books, many for research for my novels. At present I am working on Aeron Rowan Teague: Art Crime Detective. A homicide cop who happens to be a bona fide artist whose works sell at high end galleries. He is transferred to head up the AC Unit and once in awhile goes undercover for Interpol.

Some forum members might be interested in the synopsis for Barbarians, a Mongol love and war story, when women were warriors and commanders, too.

I love to smoke a decent cigar when I read or write.

In the mood for a good fiction read. These caught my eye:

The Girl Who Played With Fire Stieg Larson

American Gods Neil Gaiman

Heart-Shaped Box Joe Hill

Any recommendations?

I am currently 1/2 way through The Girl Who Played With Fire and while maybe a little slower start to than The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, it is a good book so far IMO.

The others I have not read.

Yeah, I too am a fan. God Delusion was great, but a bit dense at times... this book is far easier to process.

Had a chance to go see him at ASU for the Origins Symposium, and I was like a 12 year old girl with Jonas Brothers tickets... but something came up and I couldn't attend. Brutal.

I began rereading the whole Wheel of Time collection back in January, starting with New Spring. I'm on book 8 at the moment. I've picked up a number of nuances I missed reading them as they were originally published.
