Yesterday's pair - LP9 with the new release Laphroaig "Lore". Fans of Laffies will no doubt be going after this. Assuming you are not a fan of the more "medicinal" side of Laphroaig, this might be a gentler starting point. Peaty it may be, but closer to a Lagavulin in the quality of the aroma - the "iodine and bandages" one usually associates with the Laffie 10 year old is not so noticeable.
There is a lovely bourbonesque sweetness to the dram.
It was spectacular with the LP9.
This might just be the Laphroaig for those who prefer their scotches complex without too many rough edges.
