Who got Hopslam?! :-) It flew off the shelves at my beer store in just a few hours--they were supposed to get their shipment in this week, but it came last Thursday, so I missed it :-) I have one more connection in this area but I think I may be SOL

This is my second bottle and i love it, i have heard several people who dont really care for it. It is different. I found it to start off sweet and almost carmel like with a creamy finsh with just a slight hoppy bitterness that balances the sweetness quite well. A friend of mine loves it so much he went out and bought every bottle he could find which was only about 10. The only place left in Buffalo that i can find it at is Village Beer Merchant.

I struck out on Hopslam this year. :-) I'll take comfort in the fact that one of my DIPA homebrews was judged to be a "Hopslam clone" by the professional brewer who reviewed it, so I'll have to brew up another batch. :-)

Tony, I'd be interested in your thoughts on the Hoptimum. I had a bottle this weekend and was disappointed. It did have a nice, juicy hop character but was more grapefruity than I anticipated and not as balanced. I think Torpedo is a better beer. YMMV
