yea good call. I got the 7200 rpm hdd and high-res antiglare screen. Didn't upgrade the RAM. I'll wait for the DDR3 gets cheaper and then upgrade it myself..

I was thinking the same thing. The specs are way more than I need but I don't plan on buying a new one for a while.

I have a HP for college. Does the job. Had to send it back for a fried motherboard. That SUCKED but they fixed it for free and customer service was great. I would love to have a Mac someday though. thats my 2 cents.
