The Thurman Burger
Our head honcho overloaded with ham, mozzarella, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, sauteed onions, pickle, peppers, and mayo with chips and a pickle spear.

Lee's Hamburgers (New Orleans area) - because they grind their hamburger meat fresh throughout the day.
New Orleans Hamburgers & Seafood
There used to be a place just down the road from NASA in Houston called the Jalapeno Tree. Their speciality was placing a jalapeno and cheese in the middle of the hamburger patty.

There are also quite a few Po-Boy sandwich shops in the New Orleans area that make Hamburger Po-Boys. Imagine a 12 inch french bread loaf, three 1/3 lb. patties, dressed with lettuce, tomato, mayo, cheese. Served with a hot order of fresh (not frozen) french fried potatoes.

I forgot about the Hot Grill in Clifton NJ. Also Lanterns gets an honorable mention for having a burger topped with Taylor Ham

Whoever recommened Cheeseburger Cheeseburger, I curse you.
I'm tying this in a booth at Cheeseburger Cheeseburger in Livonia. If you don't see me online for a few days its because the good coma was too big for me to fight. This was an aboslutely ridiculous burger.
Excuse me while I pass out and possibly vomit due to eating too much......

A place here in my hometown in North Carolina called Doughboys. They serve pizza and this this monster burger for $15.00 with fries. If you can eat it in 30 minutes or less it's free. Only one person so far has done it a professional eater from Georgia. Plus they run a free poker Tournament every night Monday thru Saturday.
My son Brandon eyeing the huge burger.

I've never been impressed by Bartley's. I've eaten there a few times and I think it's fairly over rated and survives mostly on it's fame and reputation.
For my dollar I would rather grab a burger at R.F. O'Sullivan's (
http://www.rf-osullivan.com/). The menu's not as extensive as Bartley's but the burgers are much more tastey.
I also really enjoy Eagle's Deli (
http://www.eaglesdeli.com/). I ate the "Godzilla" burger once many years ago and my picture may still be on the wall there. Also, it was named "2nd best place in the world to pig out." Breakfast there is really great as well and my friend has a sandwich there named after him called the Messy Marvin.
Also, whenever I'm in Vegas I like to drop by Postrio for a burger (
http://www.wolfgangpuck.com/restaura...trio/lasvegas/). The first couple of times I had it it was AMAZING. It had fresh mozzarella on it, carmelized onions, and a balsamic glaze. It didn't even need ketchup. They've changed it since but it's still pretty good.
Also, Abe & Louie's (
http://www.abeandlouies.com/) has a great burger and also a great Tuna burger made from ground up Tuna steak.
