Not a big NBA fan, but I've been pulling for the Heat all season. Maybe next year?

Not a big NBA fan but I have been rooting for Lebron to lose all season. It's fitting that a German word best describes last night - Schadenfreude.

I wonder if Lebron fizzled again this year because someone on the Heat was doing his mother?

Actually there's a rumor going around that Rashard Lewis is laying pipe to his girlfriend and James recently found out...

My money's on Haslem.

Seriously, though, the Mavs had GREAT run through the playoffs, and were definitely the best TEAM. They had a true star, but it was all the guys who stepped up their games (hello, JJ Barea) that made it possible for them to win it all. Glad to see a classy guy like Dirk get a ring, as well as JKidd.

Congrats to the Mavs. Way to stay classy. I don't even like basketball. I disliked Lebron when he was here in Cleveland and after all that hoopla at the beginning of the season I think this is a very fitting ending.

Feeling guilty about rooting against the Heat has given way to "one down 5 to go". (Miami losing each year in the playoffs that Lebron is under contract).
Congrats to the Mavs and the many vets there who stepped up and proved that basketball is still a team game.

I was glad to see Dirk get his ring! He is a class act. Dirk could have left the Mavericks last year in search or the a championship after his contract expired but he chose to stay in Dallas. He never complains he just goes about his business. Before game 5 when wade and labron made an ass of them selves coughing in front of the camera mocking Dirk you didn't hear much from him. His teammates want to speak out on his behalf but he told them not to make a big deal about it. That is classy in my book . I wish there were more roll models like him for our kids to look up to.

I have been a Mavs fan since 99. I am SO glad that they finally won. So many key players helped to make it so, but having Dirk didn't hurt, lol.
One of the majors factors I think that helped them is that the refs started calling the last 2 games a bit more fairly. When that happened, you see the outcome. All year long the heat got preferential treatment, but the last 2 games of this series, the refs backed off a little.
