1. Star Destroyers have deflector shields, just as starships from the Federation
2. An Imperial Class Star Destroyer would own the Enterprise-D in no time flat.
3. In order to use their transporters (in this case, to beam a photon torpedo onto the bridge of a star destroyer), their shields must be down in order to do so.
