We've had all the big money managers and where did it get us??? NOWHERE!! At least Wally is a down to earth ex-Met. He was semi successful in managing A ball. Manuel and Randolph NEVER had control of the team...something I think Wally will have right from the start.

The last Big money manager the Mets had was Bobby V and it got you a World Series appearance.
Manuel and Randolph never had control of the team because the Players had the front office's ear and were allowed to ignore the chain of command.
Sandy Alderson is the man who discovered Art Howe, and that is exactly the type of manager he wants.
The second backman interview is window dressing.
It's to appease the fans and show Jeff Wilpon that Wally got a fair shake.
In the coming days you will see articles leaking how Wally's not ready yet but the Mets think he has what it takes in the future :-)

It looks like the Mets manager vacancy is between Terry Collins & Bob Melvin. If Collins gets the job they may look at Melvin for the bench coach.

Pedro Feliciano declines arbitration. Even though we was sup-par last year, this leaves no left hander in the bullpen. Let's hope they don't try to convert Ollie into a reliever. :-) :-)
