WOW!!

Mets send McHugh down to AAA and reinstate Hefner from the paternity list...WTF??? Hefner has been lit up in every outing this year, McHugh pitched 7 innings of 2 hit, 9 strikout ball. It's not like we are in the race any longer. Let the young kids get acclimated to The Show.

Or...save the arm for next season and maybe clean up the rotation then.

Well, another loss. 3-1. At least it wasn't the bullpen's fault this time. One highlight was that Wright hit hr #200.

The highlight for me was seeing Ike getting thrown out at the plate, on a grounder with no outs in the second inning.
:-)
Different strokes, for different folks, I guess

LOL Dom...
As I've said earlier in the year, smoke and mirrors. People get on the Yankees for only winning with the long ball, but when you live and die by the 2 out hit, you are just as much, if not more vulnerable.
Francesca's rant the other day was right on point. This is the team I expected all season, so the first half was a shock, and a pleasant surprise, but this team played well over their heads. There are maybe 3 legit MLB level players in the everyday lineup, and that is it, and its not as if there is much more in the farm system. All of the top prospects are pitchers. I'm not really sure what to expect next season and beyond, I just don't see any hope.

Done watching for the season. I'll check boxscores, but refuse to watch any more.

Mets FINALLY win one today...beat the Astros 3-1. Dickey picks up his 16th win of the season. And it keeps us out of the cellar, for at least another day.
:-)

Woohoo!!

Almost feel like a leering predator coming to mets banter now....but....Phils finally in front of Mets....some reality sets in...

Mets won again today. Two in a row! Who woulda thunk it?!

Look out...Hefner finally pitches a strong game without getting blown up.

And we came back from being down 4-1...and won in extra innings.

In all honesty, that is the one thing that irritates me the most about Met fans.
Every few year's they have a new rival.
When I was a kid, it was the Cards!
Any Met fans remember them?
Then it was the Braves.
Then it was the Braves and Phills.
Now it's the Phills.
We are most likely a year or two away from Washington being their #1 rival.
I guess when you constantly get your face kicked in by all the other kids in the school, it's hard to decide which one you hate the most!

For me the Phils have always been the "enemy"...remember back to a few years when we collapsed in Sept (TWICE)...both times Philly won the division. And an added plus is Keith is from Philly.

Hard to argue with that logic!

Mets beat the Phillies 3-2 last night. Harvey looked good and we're tied for third again.
