This was a visually striking horror film. Very good film to watch if you're an old school horror fan. It's made by Hammer (I didn't even know Hammer was still around). I'd put it in the same category as The Others, House on Haunted Hill, and it also reminded me a lot of Henry James' classic tale The Turn of the Screw. It's not gory, violent, or sick, it just has some very freaky visuals. Ghosts, old freaky looking toys, and a dark turn of the century feel. I'd highly recommend to anyone who loves ghost stories. Daniel Radcliffe wasn't in his best role, but I think this film will help him break out of the Harry Potter role.

Water for Elephants... The book was great, the movie not so much. When are the people who make movies going to figure out that Robert Pattinson cannot act... I like Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz was great -- just not great enough to save this movie...

Gran Torino. I had never seen it and was impressed. I didn't expect it to be as deep and complex.

Watched that this weekend too. Thought it was a clever, funny movie that did a great job at being a rom-com with out giving you a cavity from the normal syrupy sweetness.
