Drive

sidenote: 2011 was a really weak year for movies.

Don't worry, if he doesn't get it this year, he's a shoo-in next year for his upcoming role in 21 Jump Street.:-)

I'm not so sure he deserves an Oscar, but he did pull off a really good supporting role.

Agreed.

I watched The China Syndrome yesterday. Still holds up, even if Michael Douglas is a creep.

Real Steel, It was actually better than I thought it was going to be

Gonna watch Secretary when the woman gets home. For those of you who haven't seen it... it comes highly recommended to watch with your significant other.

Watched this last night. All I could think when I watched this movie was that somebody in Hollywood sat around and said, "you know what would sell? What if we took the basic plot line from Over the Top and sprinkled it with Rocky. And oh yeah, throw some robots in there, cause robots sell. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? It's brilliant!!"

I gave The Thing a shot last night. Lots of comments that this one is not as good as the original, but frankly
that movie was not so fantastic to me either, so to me the 2011 flick was just plain old OK. I like the woman in the
lead role only after I realized who she was and where I remembered her from (Scott Pilgrim vs The World). She seemed
kind of odd in the first third of the film, looking like she was TRYING to act rather than acting, certain silent brooding
emotion and looks off into space. I coudn't do any better, but with her it just seemed forced. But then she got in gear.
Not a great movie, but ehh, it was better than watching local TV on Thursday.

I haven't seen it. I want to, because I like Robert Downy Jr., but when I see the commercials for it I have to say that people in Hollywood sat down and were like, "Hey, we need an original idea for a movie..." *silence* "HEY! Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots!!"
