I was looking at the XDs and Shield 9mm, I ended up with the Shield
The shield is nice if you have small to normal sized hands. If you have large hands you might find the grip to be a little small the the gun will be loose in your hand. A Hogue grip will fix this. I felt the XDs had a better grip. The XDs also felt like it heavier. My impression was that the materials and build quality was about the same. The real determining factor at that point was the price. the Shield was less than $385, and the XDs was I think $600-550.
My shield is a pleasure to shoot, its very comfortable with the grips on it and the extended mag.

Just a heads up Palmetto State has started their black friday prices.
Greg, you have a shield, correct?
bonjing 12:20 PM 11-26-2013
No, hands are kind of too chubby for such pistols Smallest I go is Glock 19 or Sig 225. Just the full size for me. But I was looking at one a while back. The California versions are kind of hard to get for us right now.

I just got into the 'game' on the .223 ammo. What are good prices I should be looking for for the ammo? Cents per bullet? I found a 1000 round for 430.00, making it .43 per shot.

That sounds like a good deal. Best i could find is $0.45 per shot for 1000 box

The xtreme are just bullets not loaded rounds. The freedom munitions are loaded rounds.

Interesting. Didn't know Tula made brass .223. How much a box Justin?

From what I can gather it's made by Fiocchi for Tula.
It was $16.97 per box of 50. Pretty good deal.
Looks just like M193 5.56. Annealed case, cannelure on the bullet. Crimped in primers. Looks very HQ.

Nice pickup. I haven't been by the local Wally World in a while. They haven't had anything in stock for a long time. What they do get in is gone pretty quick.

That's usually the case around here too. Got lucky.
