Ive had 3 GM trucks, a Suburban, a Yukon and most recently a new Avalanche. I have always liked the way that the GM trucks feel on the road and the generous interior space therein. The Yukon (1999) had a TON of problems, I eventually traded it in for another vehicle.
The Avalanche is probably the best truck I have ever owned - it gets 17/18mpg city and rides like a dream. My passengers say that it feels like they are in a car with a tuned suspension. The front seats are factory bench, so I have room to stretch out without banging my knees into plastic console supports. I have had minor issues with it, but nothing major and all have been addressed quickly.
I have always been a GM guy... But, the new 2009 F150 is a damn nice truck - and Ford hasnt asked for any federal bailout bucks (yet).... I may go Ford for my next truck, will see....

Never knew you drove a Ford!
:-)
'08 Titan for me. It's been more than I could ever ask for from a half-ton, in every way.
Previously had a 97 F150, which was great, but I spent a ton on upkeep. Wish I had kept it to plow the driveway and for beater trips to Home Depot and hunting. I only got $1k for it with 110k (I think) when I traded it in.

Best truck I have ever owned was a GMC Z71. I didn't know how much I loved that truck until I sold it. I was 19 when i bought it and I was just trying to get some good credit but a year and a half later the payments were too much as i was going to school and I sold it. Bought it from my pops and he gave me a deal, I was able to buy a 1997 tacoma 4X4 with the 4 cylinder. Second best truck I've owned (I've had four).
Here's the GMC, I'll get a pic of the Taco later.

Yah I know (tear). I didn't go to crazy on the lift, it's just 6" with 35" tires. I got some pics of the front end on a big stump but can't find it. I wasn't afraid to get it out rough it up a bit. Some of these trucks have never seen dirt.

I've only ever owned 1 truck, an itty bitty 1992 Nissan pickup. Best vehicle I've ever had. I put almost 170,000 miles on it and the only thing that ever went bad was the water pump at 150,000 miles.
I voted Ford because that's what I would buy if I ever get another truck.

Gotta go with Nissan. I have 140,000 miles on my '00 Nissan Xterra. I would definitely consider a Titan if the need arose.

I've had an 88 Bronco with a 351
and a 92 F-150 with the straight 6.
Also had a 95 Chevy 2500HD.
I'm a more of a Ford guy though and I'm hoping to dump my current Nissan Maxima daily driver for a somewhat recent F-150 4x4

I agree. I've owned 3 Fords and 2 GMCs and my 2 Tototas were the best trucks by far. My 1986 I bought for $800 with 275 K miles. I drove it for a year and sold it for $1500 and it was running perfectly. Just saw the guy the other day and he still drives it daily and has over 400 K. My '99 Tacoma is the one I miss the most, perfect vehicle but sold it a while back for my GMC 1500 w/t because of my need to haul lumber. I miss that Tacoma. All the other trucks I've had a host of problems, with that GMC being the worst.

All three of my trucks above went to 170K miles or more. The Chevy was at 225K when I sold it. They guy I sold it to still has it and it's around 250K now.
I'll grant you fit and finish on the japanese trucks -- and maybe even overall "quality" -- but not longevity. If you maintain a Ford or Chevy full size truck it'll pretty much go forever in my experience.
Small trucks are different. Rangers / S10s are crap compared to the old Toyota SR5(?) pickups.
