Update: My Durango is officially totalled. $ 5,000 damage and the frame is bent, which adds another $ 3500 to the total.
:-) I get a check for $ 6200 and a new car payment.

Is that your insurance settlement? If that's the case, the other guys insurance should pick up the balance, although you may need (and I'd recommend) to hire an attorney. I just wouldn't be in a hurry to settle with them until you know the extent of your injuries and any future long term care you may need.

I agree with Tim. Seems like a $hitty deal for someone totalling your car.

I agree with Tim, too.
If you go to the hospital, and your neck hurts, things seem to turn out a LOT more favorably. A lawyer can't hurt a bit.
I never used to believe in the whole lawyer horsesh1t world, but it's honestly the only way to get insurance companies to play fair. It's a disgusting development, but it's just the way things are.

Thanks for all the guidance fellas...but the thing is, I am fine. No hurt neck, no bruises, no hurt back, no broken bones...in other words...no ill effects from the accident. Guess being in the Army for 23+ years taught me to be "rough and tough". Trust me when I say I am fine. As for the Durango...it was 11 years old, I got my money's worth out of it.

"Get
use to it".
My fourth grade English teacher, Mrs Wike, would be so upset.

I don't think the long term care he'll need is a result of the accident.
