I really enjoy just appreciating the construction of a cigar. The oils in the wrapper; the scent and aroma; the delicately designed labels (some are delicately simple); these all build to the smoke.
I usually toast the cigar from a good distance, as to build the smoke, rather than just blatantly lighting the foot on fire (like I see often in the store).
Once lit, let it marinate, than take the first initial puffs. Sit back...and...relax.
