No rush, I'm actually waiting for the general release. I'd rather have some that are wet packed anyway. Hoping those will be more similar to the original CG goodness.

I ended up buying a box. I will pick up a box or so of the wet packed and put them down for a long, long sleep.

I shot Pete a message asking for a bit more detail on the production and I mentioned the previous "limited / exclusive nature" commentary to which Wayne and I were talking about earlier in the thread, and Pete's reply was (reprinted verbatim with permission):

Thanks for the additional information - very interesting. I wonder if Pete might consider a true Corona (5 1/2" x 42) in the Black Label line? This size, with something like a flag cap, would be an incredible smoke, IMO. The medium ring-gauges have always been the best "show-case" for all of the Tat blends, and I've always wondered why this specific vitola has been ignored by them.

I'd love a pair of them when they show up if anyone has some.

I didn't see this until tonight, and they're long since gone :-)

Thanks for the update. At least it confirms what I was thinking earlier.

The guys at Tobacco Grove are GREAT! This was my home B&M, when I lived in MN. Sweet place to hang out and smoke. Unfortunately, the taxes up there are killer :-) Of course, they don't have to pass those along, on out of state internet orders.

No one knows for sure, (Pete has not nailed down a specific date), but they are expected to be in the store around the first week of Feb...

I am ready for the production release now so I can pick up a couple of boxes one to sit and one to taste through out a couple of years to see how it changes.

I'm anxiously awaiting the production release of these to snag a box to put down for a long, long time. I love the Tat black blend, and can't wait to see how they would be with some more age on them, especially if they were box-aged. mmmm :-)

I'd be down to buy a 5er if anyone would like to sell to me. I love lancero's and Tat blacks. A match made in heaven!

I put my name down for the waiting list and just received a e-mail yesterday saying they have freed-up some of the PL's that other people did not want anymore. I have 5 sticks coming my way, and also asked for some Liga Privada to be sent along. Jeff (guy I spoke with on the phone) said they have both 9's and T52 Flying Pigs in stock, so I asked for a few of each of those.

FYI, These are back up on the website for sale. If you were on the list and did not get contacted, you can go here to get some: http://tobaccogrove.com/index.cfm/pa...135#family_135

Thanks for the heads up. Put in an order for a 5 pack. If I like them enough, I might forego the wait and buy a box (and get a box of the La Verités too while I'm at it).

Ok guys, I just got my box this morning, and thought I would post some quick pics...sorry for the crappy quality, the studio is at home...

Surprisingly small vertical box, totally black lacquered on the outside (but NOT the inside)...
Image

The cool thing is that the word "BLACK" is lacquered INTO the paint on the back...not the easiest to see, but pretty cool...
Image

The Box opens on the top (pretty cool) and the cigars are standing straight up and down inside...
Image

Cigars are closed foot, with a pigtail on top, quite dark, and smell amazing...I will be smoking a few tonight and tom for the review tom
