General Discussion>What Makes You IRISH Today ?

Little do people know that there were Asians in Ireland long ago.. Our name was hacked apart over the years, changing the "O'Chens" into today's "Chens"

My Grand-Mother blessed me with my middle name claiming she "wanted to make sure I should have a strong Irish name to fall back upon."

The name Shannon Finerty has served me well!

Happy St. Patrick's day my friends!

My Great-great-grandfather was Irish (married to a Cherokee). There may even be more in the UK part of my bloodline. There is more Scot, though.

BTW, you can't even say "Shannon Finerty" with out it sounding like you have an Irish accent. :-)

My Nana was either Scott or Irish, we are not sure. With a name like McDowell it could have been either. So I claim Irish today.

I had met an old lady on a train platform in NY. She said to me "Oh, you must be Irish, I can see the blue of the Irish Sea in your eyes and the road map of Ireland on your face!" (The road map being the red veiny complexion of too much drink.)
Ever since that day I've been trying to forget about all the French and the other assorted nasty bits in me.:-)
