Carlos Torano Virtuoso. It tasted like horse piss smells. Acid Blondie was a close second.

Anything, and I mean anything, by Pacific Cigar Co.. I smoked one to take a hit for the team this weekend, and man, it was so bitter it tasted like smoking fresh dandelion stems and piss. Probably one of the worst cigars Ive ever had out of thousands.

But for the sake of the list, Im gonna have to go with Thompsons hand rolled.

Pirates Gold by Rolando Reyes are even worse than Puros Indios...

This. But it's not just CI; if you believe any of the flowery descriptions you read in the Holts' catalog or on Famous' site about their el cheapo "deals," you're falling into their trap.

For the maximum expression of this phenomenon I heartily recommend the El Mejor lines from CI. They're the very finest in dyed garbage sticks anywhere.

That's it? Consider yourself lucky. :-)

Every Torano cigar I have ever smoked tasted like dirt. Not earthy...literally dirt. Much like the majority of the Gurkha lines. Nasty sh!t. :-)

Brian, the cigar we dissected had actual pieces of plastic...looks like they filled the cigar with whatever they swept off the floor that day.

Worst cigar I've ever had was a Te-Amo. Cant remember what one but it was easily the worst stick I've ever smoked.

Dyed garbage sticks? Then avoid Maria Mancini Magic Mountain Maduro that JR's pushes. Had red dye on my lips and fingertips for 2 days!

I thought Felipe Gregorio make Thompson's house brands, or at least some of them.

Felipe Gregorio - Had a box of small perfectos a number of years ago that weren't bad at all - White bands, maybe?

Augusto Reyes - Was a time when I really enjoyed one of these - I think they had a blue band -- really creamy

Victor Sinclair - I'd bet the Primeros would do surprisingly well in blind taste test among connie lovers. And for small smokes, the old Triple Corojo 4x40's were pretty decent. I still smoke the miniature 55 reds on the way to work. Darn good value small smoke at auction prices.

Rolando Reyes - Been many years, but I've had a few Aliados that weren't bad at all. And, hard to question whether Rolando left his mark on the industry. RIP

Any Thompson's House Blend - Was given one by a stranger at a bar in Raleigh a few years ago. I'm reluctant to pass judgement on only one cigar, but I will acknowledge that I never sought out another. But, you know, that first one wasn't half bad enjoyed in the spirit of the brotherhood. We shared a couple Tats afterward that were better, but the experience was greater than the cigars.

I must be getting old. I used to not mind threads bashing entire lines. Smoke what you like, brothers. Someone's buying from these makers. Why bash 'em?

The new RP Nording blend from IPCPR was one of the worst cigars I've had in years. I made it though about 1/2" before ditching it.

I believe Victor Sinclair also makes a few of the house brands for Thompson's.

Another reblending of the Nording cigar? Sheez. That's like, what, the 4th time now?

IIRC, the 2nd blending was pretty good.

I have to say I don't understand this at all. I understand taste is subjective, but Rolando Reyes has pumped out some REALLY good cigar lines. Cuba Aliados, Puros Indios (Viejo is my favorite), Siembra de Oro...If you have only smoked one, try again. These are my favorite cheap cigar.

I don't know, I tried the Perdomo "The Cigar" line once, well, 50 times actually, and it was
a GIANT mistake. Worst handmade cigars I ever had. I will tell you one thing though, ANYONE
who approaches cigars from the standpoint of "What is the cheapest I can come out of this deal?"
is going to be disappointed. Sooner or later every smoker faces two choices....Smoke better cigars
or give up smoking cigars.
