Umpire crew for the Baltimore series just didn't have a clue. There is no way the kid Weiland should have been tossed for throwing a sinker that drifted in and hit the batter accidently. Of course, I think the Sox made out in that the bullpen came in and shut down the frustrated Orioles, but the call was still silly.

So ... how late did you stay up for the 16 inning marathon Sunday night?
I last 'till midnight and gave up when they couldn't score after loading the bases with no outs.

Great win though.

Heading down to Beantown with tics for Saturday's game vs. Seattle. Temps are supposed to be in the 90's .... I may have to drink some $7.50 beer!

You might get lucky with the weather. There is supposed to be a cold front moving through late Saturday afternoon or evening. It might actually be pleasant at Fenway.

Naa, it was HOT. Still 82 degrees as we were leaving the park at 10:30 PM. Hottest was the subway ride back to the hotel. Didn't matter though, the beer was cold an Beckett was on his game. Always nice to see a victory, (even against the lowley Mariners). KC comes to town tonight and Lester is back on the mound. :-)

Gee, I wonder how Drew hurt his shoulder? Maybe he was patting himself on the back for the contract he signed.

Looks like Bucholz is out for the rest of the regular season, at least.:-) Seems that the Red Sox Docs need to learn how to read an X-Ray. They're the same ones who had Ellsbury all screwed up last year.

Hope we can get him back for the playoffs?

How about the deal with A-Rod? He could get banned from baseball, underground high stakes poker after he was warned by MLB not to play.

David Ortiz burst into the middle of Sox manager Terry Francona’s press conference in the media room upstairs from the Sox clubhouse, and was running hot about something.

Ortiz said “I’m [bleeping] pissed. We need to have a talk . . . you and me” before the manager and designated hitter agreed to talk about things at a more appropriate time.

Then Ortiz gave away exactly what was bothering him when he muttered “[Bleepin’] scorekeeper always [bleepin’] [bleep] up” while exiting the room.

Ortiz was most certainly upset about a change made by official scorer Chaz Scoggins in Wednesday night’s game that turned his first inning two-run single into a one-run single with an error on the left fielder allowing the second run to score. That means an RBI was taken away from Ortiz midway through the game, and he was upset enough about it to bust up Francona’s daily pregame meeting with the press with a few choice words.

When approached later in the clubhouse, Ortiz declined comment comment on the incident except to say it was "between me and Tito."
