Wine, Beer, and Spirits>What beers are you enjoying?

Opening a bomber of Goose Island Big John.

That scuttlebutt sounds like a steal at 9.0 if it is drinkable.

I've got a bomber of southern tier back burner going. I need to remember to drink barley wines more often. I've yet to find one I can't stomach.

New Belgium Lips of Faith Le Terroir

Pretty damn tasty but this is SOUR, VERY SOUR. Maybe a bit too sour..we'll see.

wow Seth, Doggie Claws AND Chocolate Rain?! That sounds like a night!

ahhh Scuttlebutt. I grew up 10 minutes from Scuttlebutt(Everett) and Red Hook(Woodinville). I was never a huge fan of either, but I have heard that Scuttlebutt has improved in the last few years.

Last night I had 3 Mongo IPA from Port and 2 Alpine Nelson at the bar. Tonight it is Torpedo.

:-) Excellent! Glad you enjoyed it, it was too smokey for me, but I have not "acquired" a taste for smokey scotch yet. I am very glad you enjoyed it and it was my pleasure. :-)

Seth... I wouldn't describe it as smoky... some decent hints of smoke, yes... but not dominated. But the old Macallans were definetly stored in ex-Sherry Casks and that's the main flavor you get... dried fruits... very creamy... and very intensive notes of roasted malt... not sure if this is the influence of the cask or a general characteristic of this beer...
