The reports are that Boston is actively pursuing Beltran?
Being an a$$hat won't fly in Boston he will be put in his place.
Another funny David Ortiz finished third in the Boston mayoral race

Found out after my post that Infante is a FA. Damn.
Benoit was a great set up man except for giving up a HR every other appearance. I'm not sold on him, but he might be the best of what little we have.

I know you guys had some problems with Beltran but he turned out to be a real plus in St. Louis. The Cards made a QO for him but I don't think, at his age, the Cards want to commit to the 2-3 year contract that he wants. With his knees, his ability to play RF long-term is iffy. Plus, the Cards already have other plans for RF ... SS, CF and maybe 3rd seem to be their focus at the moment. The problem with Beltran going to Boston is that the Sox already have a pretty good DH.

Scherzer wins the A.L. Cy Young. Who wins next year, Fister or Sanchez?

Bold-ish Prediction: Verlander bounces back for the Cy Young in 2014.

Much like beating the King Clancy Memorial Trophy winner and his mates to take the Stanley Cup.

No, we will be keeping both Fister and Sanchez.
Oh, you mean the White Sox guy, Nate? Good luck with that.

I'm wondering if it is more of a cap move to resign Scherzer and extend Cabrera. I don't like the move either though. Tigers got the wrong infielder from Texas.

WOW!! Didn't see this coming. Makes sense for both teams. Can you imagine Fielder hitting in Texas??

Great, we still have to worry about him Oakland.

Understand the implications for resigning Max, Mike, but I still don't like it. Gave up a lot of production when our middle infield seemed pretty solid.

I think its a lot to do with salary as well as Detroit knowing Cabrera is much less of a liability at first base. Now is that enough to get rid of a guy like Fielder? I'm not sure it is. Gotta say this one blindsided me and I follow the AL Central pretty closely.

Kinsler is an upgrade to Infante...more speed and power. Now allows VMart to play first and looks like they still need a DH.
Or you could take Ike Davis/Lucas Duda off our hands.

Twins finally spending some money on some decent arms. Couldn't get much worse than last year.

Tigers trade Doug Fister to the Nationals for some scrubs.
If we can just send Cabrera, Verlander and Scherzer to the Cubs for Dave Kingman, the downfall will be complete.
