It certainly wasn't pretty, but the one thing that I was very happy about, was that yesterdays win was a team effort. The Defense did a good job containing the Falcons and the offense did a good job protecting Dixson and playing safe/effective football.

We face Baltimore this week. Hopefully we pick up where we left off.

That was a tough game on Sunday, however I remain optimistic. We were able to hold off, and stick with the Ravens for 4 quarters with a 3rd string QB.
Perhaps someone who is more knowledgeable about the rules then I can answer this, but is there a reason that we didn't intentionally let Baltimore score a safety on our last possession? We could have kicked off and forced Baltimore to start their next drive from way deeper into their territory, instead of on the 50 yard line, and make the offense drive up the field with 1:15 left on the clock and a kicker that has a 50% success rate outside of 30 yards.

It is much easier to move the ball within field goal range than it is to punch it into the end zone. You may have gained 20 yards in field position, but they would only need to drive 35 - 40 yards for a field goal attempt. I would much rather rely on our defense to keep them out of the end zone than hope their shoddy field goal kicker misses, and with 1:15 left on the clock, they had enough time to drive within an easy field goal.
With Ben in the game we easily win that one. Without one of many things happening we win it anyway. Time to forget the loss and watch the Steelers dominate the league with our franchise QB. Welcome back Ben.

Agreed!!! We will meet the Ratbirds again!!!! I for one can't wait till Ben comes back, well rested, head in the game and a strong arm to throw that deep ball to Wallace.

What a display of defense. I might make a T shirt from Harrison's post game quote. "I am not trying to injure anybody, but I am not against hurting anybody." Hopefully the execs keep football, football. Its a contact sport, let it be.

$75,000? Are they going to start suspending running backs who lead with their head?

If I was him I would put back $1 million for fines, and just go play. I mean these guys are told to jack people up coming across the middle of the field, from day 1. Look at Ed McCaffrey who used to play for Denver. That's what he was known for, he got jacked-up all the time, he broke his leg once. ESPN rated him as the player most likely to take a bad hit on the field.
I hope it doesn't get to the point of people tackling like Dion Sanders,(ESPN rated him as the person most likely NOT to take or put a hit on someone
:-).)
