Splitting 2 of 4 isn't a series win!
:-)
(Edit: I guess it's a win for Met fans)
:-)
Don't jump the gun, Beltran may not be around to help you get the next 2!
:-)
Pelfrey and Capuanno aren't exactly aces!
:-)

With this team...2 of 4
IS a series win.
:-) :-)

Who? Is this a baseball player?
:-)
Then again, it could be argued that Beltran wasn't one either, at least for the Mets.

He is the Giants #2 prospect, 33rd best in baseball...but I still think the Mets got "hosed" on this deal. All we got was one unproven young pitcher? WTF was Sandy Alderson drinking?
:-) :-) :-)
Although I am glad to finally see Beltran leave town...the Mets got boned again!!
:-)

As the 33rd best prospect in baseball, he is ranked higher than any prospect in the entire Met organization.
Not sure what you wanted for a 34yr old, often injured, 2 month rental player!
:-)
Nothing wrong with acquiring young arms, especially when Mike Pelfrey is your #1 starter!

I wanted a couple throw in arms.

Greedy!
:-)
You got rid of Beltran, I thought that would be enough for you!
With Mccann and Chipper hurt, Santana getting close, I thought the Mets may shift gears, become buyers, and make a run athe wild card.
Guess not!

Wildcard? I don't think so... .500 is a more realistic goal. I am very happy Beltran is gone. Just wanted a bit more for him, since he was the "best" free agent on the market.

Mets put it on the Reds tonight 8-2...Pelfrey pitches a complete game (he still sucks).
:-)

It wasn't his best performance. Beltran is gone. I hope the door doesn't hit him in the a$$ on the way out. He's had a decent season so far. Figures. this may be bad to say, but I hope he gets hurt and can't finish the season. This move will give Wright the perfect opportunity to step up and be the true leader of the club house.

I don't wish Beltran to get hurt (god knows he stayed hurt enough with us)...but he was, in my opinion, a first cass douchebag and mostly for the way he handled the Walter Reed Visit a few years ago. Good riddance.

I agree 100%, i was just thinkin the same thing when i read your post.
Beltran is batting .289 with 15 homers, 66 ribbies.
I thought he was finally living up to his potential.
Even after being out for how long, 6 or 8 weeks.
The Mets are done now, i guess the Madoff effect.

I am not by nature a Met hater.
I just thought with Wright back, letting K Rod go would be enough.
Now the Giants are back in front.
I do love the team in the BronX.

Bullpen holds on to another as we sweep the Reds..
