Yes you can. if it doesn't take vbulletin takes you to a screen that says you have so many log in attempts left as well as a link to "did you forget your password'. Pretty standard stuff on all the boards.

As far as my comments about Daniel running club stogie I'm not saying this to take a shot at PDS, this was what was told to me by Daniel he said PDS did not have the time to do it (to me it sounds like PDS was smart to not want to be a part of it and pretend nothing was gonna change except for the better and for that I have nothing but respect for him)

Just a question was the character in adverse times directed at me? (not trying to start a fight just wondering

Well you should look at the positive things that have come about from it...

CA and CO :-)

New guy there has much to measure up to in contrast with Paul, time will tell in his iteration at bat. However, he's already shown better character than the other CL guy per your example. Agree or disagree with the plans, intent, new look, etc, from an ownership perspective could do a lot worse. Personally, looks to me like what they are building will benefit the cigar community as a whole by bringing new lovers of the leaf into our world. Where they choose to nest once they mature is entirely up to them.

That would make more sense, though I would caution you against calling someone out if you think but know for sure he did what your accusing him of doing.

I do agree with your sentiments of where they end up comment the only problem is Live started to get a lot of guys there just looking to get bombed and not really participate in anything other that bombs and passes and PIF's even one of the mods only spent his time in those sections only. When he had GAR going he was gonna start spamming people to just get members there, looking back I feel he was gonna do this as practice to see how it worked to eventually use it somewhere else. And yes if you spam 1000 people and get 3 good guys thats cool but not when you get 75 moochers too.

I'm not making false claims he said the same thing to 3 of us during a skype call one night, also when I called him out on it on live he said he was gonna change them to baned instead of that. You also have a couple of guys on this forum that it was done to, I'm not gonna say publicly who they are but if they want to they could chime in

When I was an avid pipe smoker, I participated on the newsgroup alt.smokers.pipes. A very good question came up a few years ago: Should we as pipe smokers try to separate ourselves from cigarette smokers in an effort to fight for our own rights and let the "lowlife" cigarette smokers deal with their own bans and taxes or should we ban together to fight for smokers rights as a whole?

I think a parallel can be made for Puff.com. Any presence of a group of organized cigar smokers can only help our causes (right to smoke/right not to be taxed up the wazoo). We may not like the commercialism or the way the board is being run but it looks like they are willing to invest some money and resources to help further the hobby we all love. So, I guess that's a good thing. I know Puff was conceived at the expense of some good folks here and I won't be a "Puffer", but there is strength in numbers and Caputo is all about the numbers.

This happened to me when I asked Jon Caputo to back up some allegations he made against another board owner. (In Jon's defense, it was later made clear that it was Daniel who scambled my password.)

That thread (Backwoods' photoshop contest) is a tonic. I couldn't get through more than 8 pages without falling off the chair from laughing so hard.....

Now this is really off topic but it displays what this Forum does for me sometimes.

I'm finishing up a 16 hour day of traveling from Cancun to Cayman, had a full day of meetings here today and am currently enjoying a smoke on the back patio of the hotel.

I probably read 15 or 20 pages of this thread as I sat in airports or taxis and it really helped make the day go by and I felt good seeing what you all were posting.

What's happening is happening over there, I may check in from time to time to check it out but I'm happy here and sharing with you fine people.

I like it here and thank you all for making my trip today a little easier to handle!

100% Agreed.

The Cigar Asylum that has been constructed is my one true home now for cigar talk.

Evidence:

- In CA's short existance, I have posted here more thatn I ever did at CS. Smaller, friendlier community where we are on the "same page"

- My cigar sharing, friendships, knowledge etc... is NOT FOR SALE, nor for one man to make $. I have no problem with him making a buck, but I don't have to participate and thereby put $ in his pocket. Capitalism Rocks!!

- CS (aka PUFF) is a good reference from some of the old posts, but for fresh news, opinions, connections CA is the place!!

- Ads, *********, too much traffic, too much internal politics, cluttered format and PUFF???

- CA Minyan rocks!!

For these reasons and more, I will seldom, if ever return there.

Thanks for those who set up Cigar Asylum with a great bunch of BOTL's!!
