Heading to Total Wine today. Any recommendations? I'm not a big IPA fan. Mainly sticking to the less bitter ales. What do you think?

Getting ready to lay into a bomber of Rogue's Capt. Sig's Northwestern Ale.

Had a few Harpoon IPAs last night--man, it's been a number of years since I've had one of these. Still a classic in my book. Recalled some fond memories of drinking with friends that I no longer get to see.

Stoudt's Winter Ale 2010...at least I think that's what I'm drinking. The growler station had it labeled as Stoudt's Hoppy Red. Regardless...good stuff.

My favorite beer of 2011 so far. If you can find it I would highly recommend picking some up.

Suckin back a 2006 Schlafly Oak Aged Barley Wine.
Damn good... Great nose and mouthfeel, but finishes really dry and fades quickly.
It may be on it's last leg.

That's something to try right there! I'm going to give the liquor store a call right now.

Sanctification and the dregs...I don't think I can/will do anything with the yeasties, but I have them hanging out anyway in case I feel like buying a stir plate in the next 24hr and taking a big shot in the dark.

I thought the Regular IPA was MUCH better than the double especially since they were both 8% ABV. Crap is a bit much but to each their own.

My favorite beer by far this year. I found it at the BevMo in Temecula. They had a chit load of it. Let me know if you want me to pick you up a few.

Black moon IPA from Rock Art.
I'm certainly on the side of anyone who suggests that Greg Noonan created this style of beer in VT. Rock art does a good job with it, but I think Sublimely Self Righteous is my favorite at this point (there, that should satisfy the west coasties). Who else makes good Black IPA/American Dark ale/Cascadian Dark ale (whatever you want to call it)?
