My PJ holster is due to ship within the next couple of days...although I'm still waiting on my carry permit, so it's not gonna do me much good just yet.

On the contrary, will give you ample practice time.
Get comfortable carrying and drawing before hitting the road.

Question for AR guys that have built their own.
Now that my Rock River lower shipped, thinking of ordering the lower kit for it directly from RR, for $70.
However, noticed thay also have a two stage trigger for double the price.
I assume my stock trigger on my M&P and my Armalite are single stage, correct?
If so, for now, rather not spend the extra money.

Right

+1000

Practice drawing in simulated stress. Run 20 yards, then suddenly try to whip out your gun as fast as you can. Do it with the gun COCKED and UNLOADED (loaded mag for accurate weight is your call, for the love of God don't forget and chamber a round... :-)). You'll be surprised how often you pull the trigger accidentally :-)

There are lot's of draws and carry spots that work great normally.... but stick some stress in there and you start getting misfires. And even if it's 1 outta every 30 times, do you want those odds that you're going to shoot yourself instead of the other guy? or even one in a hundred... and bear in mind, that means you have to practice 100 frantic draws from that position before potentially learning of it's flaw.

Don't be afraid to say "this holster isn't working for me, I can't get the right firing grip on the gun" and switch holsters. I've had holsters I really liked... but just couldn't get a SAFE draw from them, too easy to slip a finger through the trigger guard while attempting to get a solid grip on the gun under stress. Takes a lot of practice and repetition.

yuppers. stock trigger is a long pull single stage. You pull the trigger back, fight a little mush and sponginess, then it really starts getting firm, and it breaks (fires) sometime after that.

A double stage trigger will have almost no resistance as you're pulling it back, it glides right back until it hits a very very sharp and defined wall... from there' you'll need 2-4lbs of pressure and almost no travel distance for the trigger to break. The second half of the stage kinda feels like a 1911 with a nice trigger. There's very little no movement forward or back, you just put some pressure on the bar, and bang.
