Just need a couple hi cap mags, err, I mean memory cards :-)

Ugh. I guess I'm gonna put up 100rds of my 5.56 for trade. I need some Federal LE132 or PD132 low recoil 00 buck with the flight control wad.

Well worked out a deal with a cop here. 180rds of LE132 for $100 and my 100rds. Good deal since that stuff sells locally for $9 per box of 5 IF you can find it.

nice.... $9 a box... expensive for 00 buck.. why do you need such high grade stuff?

Yep. It's from the flight control wad that federal puts in it. we used some at the range when i was in the academy and it's amazing stuff. copper plated shot too. can still shoot a chest sized group at 25yds. :-)

sounds like I need some of that stuff :-)

exactly :-)
emopunker2004 02:22 AM 02-09-2013
It's federal LE132-00 or PD132-00 and they have a 127 which is full power. The ones I got are low recoil

Here's my haul. 180rds of federal LE132-00 :-)

Actually 4 days (ordered on Tuesday). I may have to take a look at both uppers when they get here next week and decide which one I want to keep. I hope to be breaking her in next weekend.

On another note, shot my friends AR9 today and was surprised at how fun it was to shoot. Very little recoil and was quieter than I expected. I really want to build one now

My next project :-)

So I'm really getting geeked about getting my AR. I'm never satisfied with stock. I can see this getting very costly. :-)

Been researching new front rails. Since I don't have access to the tools, and don't know anyone with them, I'm looking at two piece rails. YHM, Troy, DD are all contenders. Then I saw the Vltor. Ooh. Right in my wheel house. I love the minimalistic look. Now if only someone has them in stock. Eh, no rush. Still need the gun first.

I recommend against a plain collapsible stock. Get the Magpul CTR, it has a compression lock on it that keeps it from wiggling. Or if you prefer a lil more cheek weld get the STR. For a rail get the Troy alpha rail. It uses the stock barrel nut. All you need to do is chop down the front site block to a low profile block and take the hand guards and delta ring off.
This is a troy alpha rail and STR stock. Nice and simple!

I like my Magpul ACS stock :-)

While I'm waiting for my upper to come, I've been looking at scopes but I'm so lost. What's a decent scope for 50-200yards (probably shooting at around 100yards most of the time)? Preferable at or around $200.

+1 on keepin things nice and simple.

Troy is good, light, nice feel. I've got a 15" troy alpha rail. Bear in mind that all barrel nuts are not created equal, so it's not unheard of to find a troy alpha rail (or other similarly attaching tubes) not line up right or fit a little off. The general advice in those cases is try a different barrel nut :-)

For my current build, I'm getting ready to order a Diamondhead V-RS rail. I like the aggressive front look, and the barrel nut it uses is pure genius - no fancy tools needed, and it sits below the gas tube, so you don't have to line them up and screw with timing issues. There's some pics of the barrel nut about halfway down in this thread here. A word of warning though with this one - the stated measurement length is for the TOP half. The bottom sits about 1 3/8" forward of the top. So a 15" rail is really 16 3/8" at the bottom.
