Mets get shutout, 6-0, by the Dodgers.

Reyes on the DL could be good for the Mets. Who's gonna want a player that's that prone to injury? When he's healthy, he's amazing. The Mets should take that risk and resign him ASAP.

Wilpon said today that Reyes isn't going to be traded.
kelmac07 08:19 AM 07-09-2011
Mets score 3 in the top of the 9th to beat the Giants 5-2. :-) :-)

I was on vacation....come back...Mets over .500....when did that happen?!?
kelmac07 08:02 PM 07-10-2011
With Pelfrey pitching tonight (and down 2-0), worst my Mets can do at the break is 46-45...never would have thought we'd do that with the current pitching staff and with all the injuries. Terry Collins gets my vote for Manager of the Year. :-)

Beltran gets moved to the starting line-up for tonight as the NL DH. I assume he'll get one AB.
Dave128 12:47 PM 07-12-2011
It's nice to see a Metsie in an All-Star uniform. I hope he gets at least on solid at-bat and represents with a hit. Hell, I'd even take a walk!
kelmac07 06:28 AM 07-13-2011
Beltran was 1-2 last night.

Love it!! :-) :-)

For cash and two players...

It was not immediately clear how much cash was involved in Tuesday's trade. It was a significant enough amount that the Commissioner's Office signed off on the deal, Melvin said.

The Mets will choose their players to be named from a list of five Brewers Minor Leaguers by a date in September. Why September? Doesn't help us this year. Better be some young pitchers.

Now he can beat people up in the Brewers Family Room. :-) :-)

Mets are the ones who sent the cash!

I think they could've gotten more at the deadline.
Players to be named are usually useless!

This was nothing more than not having to pick-up his option if he appears in 55 games (saved the Mets $ 17.5 million). Complete money saving deal by the Mets. While I understand it, I agree with you Dom....we could have gotten a better deal at the deadline.

Alderson said it was about cash!

"This trade allows us to develop and more fully utilize other members of our 2011 bullpen and offers some payroll relief as well." Straight from Sandy's mouth.

Just read that the "sausage mascots" are asking for increased security upon K-rod's arrival...
jonumberone 12:21 PM 07-14-2011
I thought sausage was the official mascot of the SF Giants. :-)

RA Dickey and the Mets are getting rocked by the Phillies. Not the way we wanted to start the second half. :-) :-)
