Bought a bottle of Eagle Rare 17 yr this weekend. They didn't have any Stagg or I would have picked that up to.

At lunch a picked up a bottle of Rittenhouse Rye BIB. I've had the 80 which was good, so I'm expecting a song and dance from higher proof.

I've never had this and don't think I've ever seen any, but have heard about it. I'll be eagerly awaiting a review.

I have about half a bottle left and another full bottle. Been my go-to bourbon for the past few months.

I concur and further thoughts to come. I looked around Louisville and couldn't find it even at the larger stores, then found a very selective small spirits store close to work and they had a few bottles. Hopefully I can make it over quickly to grab another.

If its the Bottled in Bond then it has to be this one.

BIB has to be 100 proof

The 100; bonded. I've had the 80 and I liked it. A bit lighter then I usually prefer, but it was good. Probably a good starter for someone newer to spirits with the lower proof. With the 100 I let it sit for a minute after I pour a glass to let the ethanol escape the rim and then dig in. It has a rich sweet and spicey taste.
At some points it seems so rich I could image putting in on pancakes. Don't think I will, but, there are moments of a thick syrupy molasses thing going on. I think the best part about drinking a rye is getting a good picture of what rye brings to the taste of bourbon.
I went out and picked up another bottle. I'll probably grab a couple more after Christmas if they're still on the shelf.

I'm not too much of a Bourbon nut, but I did pick up a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 yesterday evening to do some cooking and drinking.
:-)
When I was in the store I noticed that they had a TON of the Rittenhouse 100 and a few bottles of the Stagg. But, the one that really caught my eye and made me run away from the Whiskey section was Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 23.... @ $299!
Holy bejesus, that better be some fantastic stuff!

I was in Total Wines. They still had decent stock on Stagg, Eagle 17, Sazerac, and Handy.

DAMN, I was at Total Wines last week, in Atlanta, and they had no BTAC bottles.

I'm sipping some Old Wellers Antique right now with an Oliva V. Thanks to Eric (eman67) for turning me on to this wonderful stuff.

The Total Wines around Atlanta rarely have the BTAC but the Total Wines in SC and FL seem to stock them. Buffalo Trace is not available in GA period, Eagle Rare 10yr is but thats about it.

Snagged a bottle of Van Winkle 10yr 107 and 12yr Lot B. We got some 15yr in at the store but it didn't go on the floor, all the managers snagged them I think. Maybe I'll get one next time. We sold out of every VW in 1 day, including 20 and 23yr.

This thread makes me wish I was still in the states...bourbon is hard to come by in Germany.

Thanks to Eric and Patrick for telling me about Weller Antique, very good stuff!
Since I made the trip to get some good cheap Bourbon, I made it a theme and grabbed these bottles on the same trip:
Four Roses
Ancient Ancient Age
Rittenhouse Rye BIB
Old Fitzgerald BIB
Very Old Barton BIB
The Very Old Barton and Old Fitz were new for me. The VOB got some good reviews on Straightbourbon.com, however so far I don't really care for it. The Old Fitz is quite nice...
