New custom concealed carry belt has been ordered, should go nicely with the custom leather OWB holster I'll be receiving in a couple weeks :-)

Just got a Romanian WASR. Yeah laugh it up. Those things fire, and I wasn't concerned with looks. I will get a new stock and pistol grip.

But when I purchase AR parts
accessories price really isn’t much of a concern because I always look at as would I trust my life to on in a SHTF scenario, also when you build a pieces and parts rifle the value is in the sum of the parts, so buy good stuff haha (under normal times)

Noveske-LMT-Spikes-Bravo-Colt to name a few would be my 1st choices (once again leaving quite a few out)
I'm guessing things have changed since the list on AR-15.com was made?
LAR = Grizzly, Bushmaster (L Prefix), Ameetech, (?)DPMS, CMMG, Double Star, Fulton, Spike's Tactical, Noveske (new)

I think I am missing something.

yeah, that list was made 5 years ago :-)

You took the words out of my mouth :-)

One should not use that list for accurate info then, I guess.

I completely agree with you, with not putting any cheap knockoff stuff on my AR's. I will admit to using Midwest Industries on 1 of my AR's, that's going to change when I get the chance:-). Are you maybe mistaking "PSA" Palmetto State Armory, with "PA" Primary Arms? It's hard to control what a person will add/change to the item when it's at a gunshow. Heck I've seen a supposed DD upper mounted with cheap knock off optics at gunshow's myself.

What I see in PSA is that they started out like Bravo Company, offering quality parts with all the same specifications as LMT, Daniel Defense, Colt and others. Now BCM is considered one of the top tier manufactures out there. I don't know what the future holds for PSA but I hope they continue the trend of offering top quality products at a reasonable price point. Like I pointed out PSA offers the same specifications as the top tier manufactures do.

I love my PSA midlength upper. Runs like a champ! :-)
bonjing 11:16 PM 02-04-2013
One more thing to point out, I'm only comparing uppers. Below I made bold the same feature from both companies.

From Noveske's website listed at about $800:

16" Cold Hammer Forged 5.56mm Barrel
--M249 Machine Gun barrel steel and Chrome Lining (appx. 2 times as thick as an M4 or M16)
--Extended Feed Ramps
--Same weight as M4 barrel with improved contour for maximum rigidity and no M203 notch
--MP HP tested
--1 in 7" twist
--Mil Spec Phosphate finish
--Mid length gas system
--1/2x28 threads
--Fixed front sight base, F marked
--Flat-top upper receiver
--Mid length A2 type handguards
--Shot peened and MP tested bolt
--Auto carrier with properly staked carrier key
--Gun Fighter Charging Handle
--Blackout Flash Suppressor
--Back up iron sight not included
Upper Weight: 4 1/4 lbs

From PSA all for about $600 (maybe cheaper) before all the madness:

Barrel length 16"
Hammer Forged Barrel

Machine Gun Steel
5.56 Nato Chamber
1 in 7" twist
Double-thick Chrome-lined bore and chamber
A2 profile
M4 feedramps
Forged upper
T-marks

Barrel: A proprietary blend of Hammer forged chrome molly vanadium made by FN that is referred to as "Machine Gun Steel" by virtue of its use in FN's M249 and M240 weapons. The hammer forging process work hardens the steel, making it more durable. In addition, the chrome process for the bore allows for a lining almost twice as thick as a standard M16 for enhanced durability. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1/7 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a Mid-length gas system. A2 style profile barrel is Mil-spec phosphate coated, High Pressure tested and Magnetic Particle inspected. Barrel is finished off with an F-marked front sight post with sling swivel, standard handguards and an A2 flash hider.

Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is made to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized black for durability. Featuring machined T marks, and a mil-spec finish. These uppers are made for us right here in the USA by a mil-spec manufacturer, and are marked with the Palmetto State Armory logo on the left side, up front, just below the rail.

PSA also offers the same bolt specifications as Noveske's bolt.

Yeh the only real reason I'd get a Noveske or DD is resale value. Period.

:-)

Gonna hit up the LGS tomorrow while the wife is at the doc. Need to pick up a case of 12ga shells to go shooting on the 16th. I'll just get whatever cheap birdshot they have.
