Not sure. I have the factory ones on mine. My G20 is a 2nd generation, and they are still bright as heck.

Tlr1 or tlr1-s for light.
For night sights I like the tru-glo TFO

Not sure if addressed somewhere on this thread.
Can someone compile a list of quality lower manufacturers so I can hopefully eventually get one when prices and if prices get back to some level of normalcy?

Also, what is an "ammo grade" lower?

Holy crap!
Is there a consolidated list on there?:-)
I was thinking of sitting on PSA and catch one of theirs.
I am not as lucky as Francis to be able to nail down one of those Umbrella Industries one. That is sweet!

Never heard the term, sorry.

But as far as lowers go, you really can't go wrong with any of the major manufactures now, just remember all of the big boys can put out a bad lower here and there. Just my opinion, get the lower with the logo you like best, before all the craziness that's just what I did.

I read to get forged instead of billet.
I don't think under $100 days will be back any time soon so have set my max at $150 and see if I can nail one or two for future builds.
bonjing 01:59 PM 02-04-2013
I have to admit though, I've seen a few billet lowers and they do like nice.

Carlos my opinion on PSA is they are equal to DPMS so they wouldn’t be on my list, from what I have noticed sale price seems to be there biggest selling feature. There are many that own these products and are happy because they fit the budget and that’s great, I wish every hard working, tax paying stable American had and AR in there home. But when I purchase AR parts
accessories price really isn’t much of a concern because I always look at as would I trust my life to on in a SHTF scenario, also when you build a pieces and parts rifle the value is in the sum of the parts, so buy good stuff haha (under normal times)

Noveske-LMT-Spikes-Bravo-Colt to name a few would be my 1st choices (once again leaving quite a few out)

Curious as why you would say that PSA is bottom barrel stuff when their uppers (most) are using the same specifications as the "big boys?"

from their website:

Barrel length 16"
Hammer Forged Barrel
Machine Gun Steel (made by FN)
5.56 Nato Chamber
1 in 7" twist
Double-thick Chrome-lined bore and chamber
A2 profile
M4 feedramps
Forged upper
T-marks

regarding their barrels:

Barrel: A proprietary blend of Hammer forged chrome molly vanadium made by FN that is referred to as "Machine Gun Steel" by virtue of its use in FN's M249 and M240 weapons. The hammer forging process work hardens the steel, making it more durable. In addition, the chrome process for the bore allows for a lining almost twice as thick as a standard M16 for enhanced durability. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1/7 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a Mid-length gas system. A2 style profile barrel is Mil-spec phosphate coated, High Pressure tested and Magnetic Particle inspected. Barrel is finished off with an F-marked front sight post with sling swivel, standard handguards and an A2 flash hider.

And the prices on them before the panic were under $800 complete

Anyone know these guys?
They are not too far from me and $149 given market is not bad at all.

Never heard of them, but I think the logo is cool.

Me too.
Good price, cool logo, close by.
6-8 week wait not terribe.

The hardest part to tell is whether or not the lower is in spec until you build it and test the function out, or take measurements. I bought a local company's lower and it was just a tad out of spec in the mag well creating a tight fit for mags.

Greg, I said "my opinion " or perception is that of lower price AR's. It comes form all the horrible looking GunShow ar's I see at shows wearing Chinese knock off furniture and cheap wana be Aimpoint optics are usually PSA or similar. I prefer to take the $800 for purchasing a PSA a putting toward a better brand you know the "big boys" :-)
