Love the sweep of the Rays. Can't say I saw that coming. 29 runs??? The offense woke the hell up in this series.
Now for the whole Mets appealing the call in Dickeys game the other night??

:-)

I figure the Mets blew their load down in Tampa.
It wouldn't surprise me if they get shut out the next 10 games.

Mets drop one to the Reds, 7-3.
Heading to the game tonight. 1 day earlier and I could have seen the free REO Speedwagon post game concert.

Oh and Jason Bay runs into yet another wall and hurts himself. Sure glad we are getting our $ 70 million worth out of him.

And the Mets get swept by the Reds.

I may get stoned for saying this, but thank God for the Yankees!

I doubt anyone will notice!

That's just not right. To clarify, the Yanks sweep of Mets NL rival teams has been a welcome relief to the Mets inability to win recent games.

Yeah, my boys have been doing their part to try and help you out (save maybe for blowing a couple of those last games in The Bronx to you
:-) ), but if you don't help yourself a little there is little more we can accomplish for you.

R.A. Dickey beat the pants off Baltimore 5-0 (the grand slam by Davis helped a bit, too)! He's now 11-1.
RA Dickey's having a great year. Seems to be a good man and he's easy to root for.

RA Dickey is literally unhittable right now. I have never seen entire lineups look so lost against a guy as I have his last 3 starts.
jonumberone 04:36 AM 06-19-2012
Dickey is the shiz right now.

Dickey pitched another great game last night.

I agree about Dickey, and wondered about the decision to juggle the pitching line against my Yanks. OK, I know the excuse was to give Santana a few extra days's rest after his no-no. But the Yankees are historically bad against junk-ballers, and I felt Dickey was a much greater challenge for them than Johan.
Guess we might find out for sure this weekend, with him pencilled in to oppose C.C.

Thing about Dickey - I wouldn't change the rotation at all around him. He needs to pitch basically every 6th day.
He really isn't a junk baller. I wish love when we throw him in the opener of a series, basically seems to screw a lineup up for days.

Chris, you'd know better than me about Dickey. But he'd be the first knuckler I've ever heard of who truly needed a 6-day rest. Most of them say they can pitch 3 days in a row, if needed.

I didn't mean he needed rest Tom. I think the Mets want to keep him on his regular day. Remember when the Yankees always made sure Mussina pitched on his normal day, I think that is what the Mets have in mind for Dickey.

Dickey throws his knuckleball a lot faster than any other previous knuckleballers. Topping out at 85 MPH with crazy movement...puzzling hitters, as well as Thole.
