For all the other parts, save your money and wait. The parts will only get cheaper, and the options will only go up.
If you're not worried about a gun ban, don't even buy the lower now. The market is going to be FLOODED with private party deals on AR's in 2-6 weeks as everyone who went out and purchased one on panic suddenly realizes that they can't afford to keep it, and are willing to sell it for less than they paid. There's also a lot of people who purchased 5-20 lowers, thinking they would have a precious and pricy commodity when a ban hit. If a ban doesn't hit, then they're going to start liquidating those....
I would lay far better odds of a magazine ban passing than a gun ban, I would probably get a few of those now. $30 is going rate. Still very pricy compared to $10-$12 before.. but if you're only getting a couple, not that bad. :-)

Some things will stay high for a while (ammo in particular, typically if you stockpiled that, you'll keep your stockpile rather than sell it), but private party deals are going to abound for many things....
Exactly...A lot of people are going to be experiencing buyers remorse I'm afraid.

BCGs are one of the items on "INDEFINITE BACKORDER"
for a 20" stainless free float heavy match barreled upper, $675 sounds about normal. I wasn't very familiar with prices before, but I don't think you'll see that go any lower in the next year...

Well, placed the order just to see. I guess last night I was surprised to see the "Buy" button active. But looking through the rest of the site this morning, seems it's there for a lot of parts. Who know's how long it will take. Now to find a lower.

I didn't know it would be hard to find an ammo can now either, local that is.
I want more of a modern, heavy plastic one. Not the metal ones. Can't find anything big enough here, right now.
emopunker2004 09:20 AM 01-29-2013
Why not metal? I love my metal gi cans
CigarSquid 09:24 AM 01-29-2013
I just don't care for them... Not sure why.

These are what I use only the black ones. Luckily we have a few places here that sell them for 15 bucks.
CigarSquid 09:53 AM 01-29-2013

CigarSquid 09:58 AM 01-29-2013
Puts me over by 10 bucks for 2 of them
Even for 1, it is higher than paying for 1 on Amazon.

Does the brand of buffer tubes matter (spikes, bcm, dpms, utg)?
bonjing 08:38 PM 01-29-2013
Sometimes, just depends on if you want mil-spec or commercial. I personally believe mil spec is better and there are more options. Then it all depends on how adjustable you want 5 or 6 position. Of the ones you mentioned I'd avoid utg
big pete 08:50 PM 01-29-2013
Looking at mil-spec ones. It's all I need to finish my lower. Anyone here have a extra set?
