I love when the mailman brings gifts. Never had either so excited to try. When researching the Diesels, I keep reading they come pretty green and need some serious naptime. I'll probably have to try one because I'm impatient, but any suggestions on how long to lay the rest down after they come out the deep freeze?

Diesels need about 2 months, in my experience. However, pull the stick out of the cellophane slightly and see if the plastic has a slight brown hue. If so, and they're not super moist, they're probably good to go. Never hurts to burn one immediately. :-) Diesels are one of my favs.

Very cool. Thanks for the rundown, Scotty. I'll take your advice. Like you said, putting fire to it is always a good way to find out! :-)

Pretty much anything by AJ Fernandez is going to benefit from sleep time. But it's sooooo worth it.

Nice grab Jason...damn they look good!! :-) :-) Still debating on grabbing a jar or not. Kind of hard to justify $ 300 for 19 sticks.

If you have not had one of these, it's the best size for MOW's. SOOO Tasty.

Nice grabs Garry, Scotty, and Jeff :-)

Very impressive Scotty! I got some things incoming from cbid as well, too easy to get crazy. That MOW selection looks beautiful. Sad to say the couple I tried awhile back had crazy draw problems so I neglected the line after that. Perhaps time to re-visit I see!

Garry, looking good. I got my first CAYP order inbound and there's certainly some overlap with what you posted. :-)

Jason, those look delicious. Never tried anything from Viaje, embarrassed I've been out the game awhile. Will look forward to indulging down the line!

Scotty, they look especially good sitting on top of that new, custom humidor. :-)

The shop here in Charlotte received a ton of these but I just can't bring myself to pay almost $19 for a Viaje. 9 out of 10 times lately when I do decide to fire one up I quickly realize it's just not ready yet. I always liked the TNT but this year before buying a handful I decided to smoke one first only to find out it was no where as good as previous years. They will probably improve with a nap but I decided to pass. I have gotten tired of buying sticks that I need to put down for 3 to 6 months before I can smoke them.
Simple1 12:50 PM 07-25-2013
John, but what a difference when you get a nice aged stick. A lot of times 3-6 months is the heart of the "sick" period of a cigar, especially with CC's, but with many NC's as well. I've started putting the good sticks out of sight. When I eventually find them, they've become better with a year or two of age. Five plus years, even better.
